The Nouvelle-Aquitaine buses await you as soon as you exit the train, behind the La Rochelle SNCF train station, and will take you directly to Île de Ré. All the villages on Île de Ré are served year-round. Journey times vary from 25 minutes to reach Rivedoux-Plage, the first village after crossing the bridge, to 2 hours to reach Les Portes-en-Ré, at the very tip of the island.
During the summer season, buses on the "Nouvelle Aquitaine" line pick you up at the train station and stop on request. This makes the journey faster. Reservations are not required. Passes are available for the day, week, month, or year.
For your day trips, an electric shuttle will take you across the bridge every day from June to September for €1 per person over 5 years old. The frequency varies from one shuttle every thirty minutes to one every ten minutes depending on the time of day.
Parking for your cars is available on both sides of the bridge. It is free.
